Casa Pia confirmed their status as relegation candidates after a thumping 7-0 defeat against Benfica.

Gil Vicente have has plenty of time to get to work under new manager Luís Pinto and can take another three points in Barcelos.

Gil Vicente have a 4-1 advantage against Casa Pia alongside one draw.

New Manager for Gil Vicente

Gil Vicente finished sixth in Liga Portugal last season, Cesar Peixoto joining Wolverhampton and replaced by Luís Pinto.

The manager is aiming to prove he can cut it at the top level after being sacked by Guimarães in March.

The Barcelos club have played once after their clash against Braga was postponed. It was a 1-0 victory against Rio Ave, Héctor Hernández coming off the bench to net a late penalty after the visitors were reduced to 10 men.

Casa Pia Rock Bottom

Casa Pia narrowly avoided relegation last season, defeating Torreense in the relegation playoffs. Álvaro Pacheco left the club with former Benfica youth manager Filipe Coelho given his first chance in charge of first team.

Coelho’s side lost 1-0 at Maritimo in their season opener, ending with 0.68-1.40 xG in Madeira.

The Geese are coming off a humiliating 7-0 defeat against Benfica. They had 0.17-2.83 xG with their defence continually sliced open in Rio Maior.

Coelho was disappointed with the second half performance: “Our start to the second half was disastrous, and we need to understand what happened. It's nothing like the identity we want to build at the club.”

“It killed our ability to continue living the game. We couldn't find our rhythm in the second half, and Benfica ended up having the opportunity to manage the game in their own way.”
