Nigeria have scored 11 goals in five friendlies this year and Portugal are unlikely to care about the result here. I am backing BTTS in Leiria where the home side should be able to emerge victorious.

HTH - Second Clash

Portugal have met Nigeria once, a friendly shortly before the 2022 World Cup.

Bruno Fernandes bagged the opening two goals in Lisbon, Goncalo Ramos and Joao Mario scoring off the bench in a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Portugal Form & Squad

Portugal crushed Armenia 9-1 in their final World Cup qualifier. Joao Neves and Bruno Fernandes netted hat-tricks in Porto where the result was never in doubt.

Roberto Martinez’s side met two World Cup co-hosts in March, beginning with a 0-0 draw against Mexico at Estadio Azteca.

Francisco Trincao and Joao Felix scored in a 2-0 victory over the United States in Atlanta where both teams registered under 0.75 xG.

The Selecao hosted Chile in Jamor on Saturday and came away with a 2-1 win. Goncalo Guedes and Bruno Fernandes scored after both teams had been reduced to 10 men, the clean sheet ruined in added time.

Nigeria Form & Squad

Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup despite getting a second chance in the playoffs. They met DR Congo in the final, the game ending 1-1 after extra time before a penalty shootout defeat.

The Super Eagles had a great start at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, winning five straight games to reach the semi-finals. They were outplayed by hosts Morocco, the contest going to another penalty shootout where they came up short.

Eric Chelle’s side are unbeaten in five friendlies since, scoring 2+ goals in each contest. They beat Zimbabwe and Jamaica before a 2-2 draw against Poland, Terem Moffi and Paul Onuachu with the goals in Warsaw.
