Orlando Pirates Hold Big Lead

Orlando Pirates hold a 7-4 advantage over Sekhukhune with two draws in 13 meetings.

Pirates won 1-0 when the clubs met on Saturday in the MTN8 semi-final first leg.

3 Wins in Last 31 PSL Matches for Pirates

Pirates have won four and drawn one of their five matches this season. Last term ended with a domestic treble as they won 21 of their final 28 league matches to win the title.

This season started with a 2-0 home win over Milford and a 2-1 home win over Durban City in the MTN8 as they outshot their opponents 41-7 over 120 minutes. A 1-1 draw followed in the PSL at AmaZulu.

Pirates beat Chippa United 3-0 last midweek. On Saturday, they allowed just one shot on target in a 1-0 win away at Sekhukhune to put one foot in the MTN8 final ahead of the second leg.

Three Wins in Five Matches for Sekhukhune

Sekhukhune’s final 13 fixtures of last season saw just two wins. They have three wins in five matches this season after appointing Cedric Kaze as coach.

They beat Durban City 1-0 in the PSL to start the 2025-26 season. A 4-3 win at AmaZulu in the MTN8 after extra time was followed by a 2-0 loss at Kaizer Chiefs with just 0.40 xG produced.

Sekhukhune beat Polokwane City 2-0 at home, before losing 1-0 at home to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-final first leg on Saturday. They were outshot 15-7 and had just one shot on target in that defeat.
