Oman vs Kuwait Predictions
Oman and Kuwait meet at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in their final Gulf Cup Group A fixture.
Oman must win to retain any hope of progressing, and an already-eliminated Kuwait could take advantage of their attack-minded approach.
BTTS and over 2.5 goals both look like great value choices for Tuesday’s decisive matchup.
BTTS Backed in Jeddah
- Oman have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 matches (competitive fixtures)
- Oman have seen BTTS in 2 of their last 4 matches against Kuwait
- Kuwait have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 9 matches
- Kuwait scored 1+ goals in 9 of their last 12 matches
- Kuwait have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches
Oman Boast Strong H2H Record
Oman and Kuwait have met on 11 occasions since 2009. Oman won eight of those games while Kuwait secured only one victory.
Oman claimed a 4-0 World Cup qualifying win in October 2024 before the sides drew 1-1 in the Gulf Cup two months later.
The two nations have faced each other only three times over the past seven years.
Oman Search for First Gulf Cup Win
Oman come into their final Group A fixture knowing only a win will do after a 3-0 defeat against Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
The Saudis eased to victory after a superb first-half display. Firas Al-Buraikan scored twice either side of Hassan Kadesh’s goal to put the result beyond doubt before the break.
Oman had chances to get back into the contest, but could not find a way through after the break.
Final match stats suggested a closer game than the scoreline. Saudi Arabia had more shots (13-8), but only narrowly edged the xG totals (1.85-1.72).
Tarik Sektioui men drew 1-1 with Iraq in their first Group A fixture, and must now beat Kuwait and hope for a favourable result in Saudi Arabia's meeting with Iraq to have any chance of progressing.
The Reds have struggled to find much form in the past 12 months, with clean sheets also remaining elusive.
Oman won only three of their last internationals since September 2025 while they shipped at least one goal in six of their seven most recent matches.
Kuwait Eliminated After Iraq Heartbreak
Kuwait head into Tuesday’s final Group A fixture with their hopes of reaching the Gulf Cup semi-finals dashed by Saturday’s painful 3-2 defeat against Iraq.
Zidane Iqbal put Iraq ahead before Yousef Nasser levelled from the spot. Saif Rasheed restored Iraq’s lead, but Nasser looked to have secured a point with a 90th-minute equaliser.
Karar Nabeel broke Kuwaiti hearts with a winner nine minutes into stoppage time.
Helio Sousa’s men looked good value for at least a draw in Jeddah. Kuwait finished with a significantly higher xG (2.17-0.89), although 0.79 of their total came from the penalty spot.
Still, the Blue Wave could count themselves unfortunate to have their hopes of progression ended.
Kuwait have now failed to win any of their last six matches. Five of those fixtures finished with both teams on the scoresheet.
Frequently involved in entertaining contests, an average of 3.66 goals per game were scored in their last nine matches.
