Melbourne City vs Central Coast Mariners Preview

A win for either side will see them move into the top six and occupy a final spots. Melbourne City are short-priced favourites but have struggled for wins against the Central Coast Mariners so I'm backing BTTS as the best bet.
  • BTTS has landed in 6 of Melbourne City's last 8 A-League games
  • BTTS has landed in 6 of Central Coast Mariners' last 7 A-League games
  • Six of the last 8 head to heads have seen BTTS

Melbourne City vs Central Coast Mariners Head To Head

The Mariners are unbeaten in seven of the last eight meetings between the teams following a 0-0 draw last time out in Round 6.

Melbourne City Still In Finals Contention

Melbourne City are within two points of the top six following a 3-0 win over bottom of the ladder Western Sydney Wanderers at the weekend.

The comfortable victory moved City onto a 7-8-7 record for the season up to eighth, two places adrift of Macarthur in sixth.

City are now unbeaten in the last five games, including their AFC Champions League showdown with Buriram United which they ultimately lost of penalty.

Central Coast Mariners Suffer A Blow

Suffered a big blow to their finals hopes when going down 4-1 to Melbourne Victory before picking up a point from a 2-2 draw with Perth Glory at the weekend to fall to ninth spot.

The Mariners are now 7-7-8 for the season and three points outside of the finals places. They can jump back up to sixth with a win thanks to a superior goal difference to Macarthur.

Prior to the crushing loss to Victory, the Mariners have gone from wooden spoon contenders to finals hopefuls on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run.

After the entertaining draw with Glory at the weekend, the Mariners have now lost just once in their last 10 games.
