Juventus have climbed to third in Serie A and have their sights on overtaking Napoli. The Old Lady have been defensively solid in recent weeks and with Dusan Vlahovic fit and in form, Fiorentina’s chances are slim in Torino.

Juventus haven’t won in three games against Fiorentina but still leading the head-to-head 92-42 alongside 61 draws.

Juventus Climb to Third

Juventus won three straight matches in April to climb to fourth spot in Serie A. They kept a fourth straight clean sheets at AC Milan but couldn’t score, both teams registering under 0.70 xG in a 0-0 draw.

Luciano Spalletti’s side were short priced favourites to beat Verona but couldn’t overcome a half-time deficit. Dusan Vlahovic entered the fray at half-time and equalised but Juve failed to capitalise on 76% possession, 29-7 shots and 2.59-0.30 xG.

Vlahovic scored in the 1st minute as the Old Lady won 1-0 at Lecce last time out. The victory took Juventus to third on the table, one point above AC Milan and Roma.

Fiorentina Finally Safe

Fiorentina have been struggling all season long but managed to go on a decent run in the Conference League. They suffered a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in the quarter-final first leg before a 2-1 win at home.

The Tuscany club haven’t won in Serie A since, earning three draws in four games to finally steer clear of the relegation zone. They drew 1-1 at Lecce but haven’t scored since, starting with a 0-0 draw against Sassuolo.

Paolo Vanoli’s side lost 4-0 at Roma where they were completely outclassed and ended with 0.13-2.24 xG. Fiorentina had one shot on target in a 0-0 draw against Genoa last time out.
