Inter Miami lost to Monterrey last time out and Leon will be confident of making it another Mexican win in Florida. With so many attackers absent for this one, I am backing an upset the Leagues Cup.
HTH
This will be the first match between Inter Miami and Leon.
Miami Face a Crisis Up Front
Inter Miami returned from the World Cup break with Luis Suarez leading the way. He scored twice in an exciting 3-2 victory over Chicago Fire and again in a 1-0 win over Montreal.
Suarez opened the scoring and assisted Noah Allen against Columbus Crew but it wasn't enough, Lionel Messi seeing a late header saved in a 2-2 draw.
Guillermo Hoyos’ side have played their previous two games in the Leagues Cup, a 4-2 win against Atletico San Luis and a 2-1 defeat against Monterrey.
The result against Monterrey came without Lionel Messi who was in Argentina following the death of his father.
Leon Perfect in the Leagues Cup
Leon had a poor start in Liga MX, beaten by Atlas and Tijuana. They bounced back to beat Pachuca 1-0 thanks to Daniel Arcila’s goal.
Arcila has maintained that form and has now scored in three consecutive games. Both ended in victories in the Leagues Cup, the first a 1-0 win at Nashville.
The Mexican club are coming off a 2-1 win at Orlando City where they came back from a half-time deficit, ending the contest with 10-3 shots on target and 1.79-0.70 xG.
Team News
Miami centre-backs Gonzalo Lujan and Maximiliano Falcon remain out with calf injuries and David Ayala is dealing with an adductor issue.
Forwards Tadeo Allende and German Berterame are out, Luis Suarez is suspended and Lionel Messi is unlikely to feature following his father’s death.
Leon are likely be missing Valentin Gauthier due to an ankle injury and midfielder Angel Estrada is doubtful due to a leg injury.
