Haiti and Scotland will meet for the first time this weekend.
Haiti Slip to Peru Defeat
Haiti arrive in Boston after a narrow 2-1 defeat against Peru in their final World Cup warm-up fixture last weekend. Wilson Isidor gave the Haitians a first-half lead before late goals from Renzo Garces and Jairo Velez secured a comeback win for Peru.
The CONCACAF qualifiers ruffled Scottish feathers with a 4-0 win against New Zealand before their setback against the Peruvians.
Returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1974, Sebastien Migne’s men secured qualification for the finals after topping Group C in the CONCACAF campaign.
The Grenadiers finished two points clear of Honduras following a decisive 2-0 win against Nicaragua in their final qualifying fixture.
Since securing their place in the 48-team finals, Migne's side have won just one of four friendly matches, incuding a 1-0 defeat against fellow qualifiers Tunisia.
The Haitians will be hoping for a better performance than in their only other previous World Cup appearance 52 years ago. Haiti finished bottom of their section at the finals in 1974, conceding 14 goals in defeats against Italy (3-1), Poland (7-0) and Argentina (4-1).
Scotland Blast Bolivians
Scotland make the trip to Gillette Stadium in high spirits after scoring four goals in both of their World Cup warm-up victories against Curacao and Bolivia.
The Scots eventually eased to a 4-1 win against Dick Advocaat's Curacao side at Hampden Park before a dominant 4-0 victory against Bolivia in New Jersey last weekend.
In-form forwards Lawrence Shankland and Che Adams made their case for inclusion this weekend. Shankland scored three goals over the two fixtures, while the impressive Adams bagged a double against the Bolivians.
Steve Clarke's side have now won seven of their last 11 matches, while they scored exactly four goals in each of their last three victories. The Scots bagged at least twice in their last seven wins since June 2025.
Up to 43rd in the FIFA World Rankings, Clarke's men sit 40 places ahead of 83rd-ranked Haiti.
Returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, Scotland have won only four of 23 previous World Cup finals matches. The Tartan Army last celebrated a win on the world's biggest stage against Sweden (2-1) in 1990.

Sebastien Migne has a fully fit 26-man squad available for Haiti’s first World Cup fixture in over 50 years. Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor is expected to feature after scoring his second international goal in the defeat against Peru.
Head coach Migne admitted Haiti learned a valuable lesson after their late collapse against the Peruvians.
“Football is cruel,” Migne said after the match. “When you’re playing against teams ranked in the top 50 in the world, there’s no room for mistakes. When you have the opportunity to finish the game, you must take it.”
“When you let your opponents breathe, things won’t end well,” he added.

Scotland boss Clarke has several selection dilemmas this weekend. John McGinn is likely to return to the first XI with Ryan Christie potentially dropping to the bench.
Lawrence Shankland and Che Adams are expected to spearhead the Scottish attack, with Clarke set to deploy a 4-4-2 system on Saturday.
Billy Gilmour is the only notable absentee from the Scottish squad after a knee injury ended his World Cup dream. Manchester United rookie Tyler Fletcher was the surprise choice to replace the stricken Napoli midfielder in the Scots' 26-man selection.
Speaking after the impressive win against Bolivia, Clarke expressed his delight heading into the World Cup.
"For once, I got everything I asked for - no injuries, a performance and a good result," the Scotland head coach told BBC Scotland.
"I've got some decisions to make. The starting XI becomes a fixation, but this is a tournament for your finishing XI."
