The Bundesliga has become a one horse race since 2013, Bayern Munich winning 13 of the previous 14 titles.
Vincent Kompany's side were unstoppable last season, scoring an incredible 122 goals which smashed their own Bundesliga record of 101 which was set in 1971-72.
FC Bayern are short priced favourites to maintain their dominance which means we need to analyse other outright markets to identify some value.
Let's take a look at the Bundesliga winner betting odds and see how the contenders are shaping up ahead of the new campaign.

Bayern Munich - Setting the Pace
- Manager: Vincent Kompany
- President: Herbert Hainer
- Key Players: Dayot Upamecano, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz, Michael Olise, Harry Kane
- In: Nathaniel Brown (Eintracht Frankfurt), Bara Sapoko Ndiaye (Gambinos Stars), Ismael Saibari (PSV Eindhoven)
- Out: Daniel Peretz (Southampton), Alexander Nübel (Besiktas), Raphaël Guerreiro (Released), João Palhinha (Benfica), Leon Goretzka (Released), Jonah Kusi-Asare (Fulham)
Bayern Munich won 11 Bundesliga straight titles from 2012 to 2023, their stranglehold on the competition stopped only by Bayer Leverkusen in 2023-24.
The Bavarians have bounced back in style, winning by 13 points two seasons ago before a dominant 2025-26 campaign. Bayern finished 16 points clear, scoring 122 goals which was 51 more than Stuttgart.
Vincent Kompany's side won the German Cup and reached the Champions League semi-finals to highlight the strength of their squad.
Raphaël Guerreiro and Leon Goretzka have been released with the club spending €50m each on Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. They may have to reinforce their attack but with seemingly limitless funds, expect more top quality players to move to southern Germany.
There is little doubt that Bayern Munich will win the Bundesliga once again. Few if any have the ability to stop Luis Díaz, Michael Olise and Harry Kane who combined to score 66 Bundesliga goals last season, only three teams scoring more.
Borussia Dortmund - Primary Contenders
- Manager: Niko Kovac
- President: Hans-Joachim Watzke
- Key Players: Nico Schlotterbeck, Julian Ryerson, Felix Nmecha, Maximilian Beier, Serhou Guirassy
- In: Joane Gadou (Salzburg), Kauã Prates (Cruzeiro), Joey Veerman (PSV Eindhoven), Justin Lerma (Independiente del Valle), Samuele Inácio (Borussia Dortmund II), Konstantinos Karetsas (Genk), Giannis Konstantelias (PAOK Thessaloniki)
- Out: Niklas Süle (Tiefenbach), Salih Özcan (Besiktas), Julian Brandt (Ajax), Karim Adeyemi (Barcelona), Cole Campbell ( Elversberg), Julien Duranville (Lyon)
Borussia Dortmund’s last Bundesliga title came in 2011-12, finishing second in eight of the 14 seasons since. They had the best defence last season and scored more than two goals a game, but it wasn’t enough to get near Bayern Munich.
Maximilian Beier and Serhou Guirassy have the ability to find the net but more goal threats are needed. It remains to be seen how new signing Giannis Konstantelias will handle the step up in class from the Greek Super League.
Samuele Inácio got plenty of game time towards the end of the previous campaign and the talented teenager could be a big improver.
Dortmund continue to invest in youngsters but keeping pace with Bayern over 34 games will be a big challenge once again.
Leipzig - Tough Challenge for Demichelis
- Manager: Martín Demichelis
- Chief Executive Officer: Tatjana Haenni
- Key Players: Willi Orbán, David Raum, Christoph Baumgartner, Rômulo
- In: Maxime Estève (Burnley), Rocco Reitz (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Christopher Nkunku (AC Milan)
- Out: Péter Gulácsi (Villarreal), Lutsharel Geertruida (PSV Eindhoven), Xaver Schlager (Nottingham Forest), Eljif Elmas (Atalanta), Yan Diomande (Real Madrid), Lois Openda (Juventus)
Leipzig finished second in the 2020-21 Bundesliga season but couldn’t keep up the pace. They were 24 points behind Bayern last season, conceding an alarming 47 goals.
Ole Werner lasted one campaign in charge and has been replaced by Martín Demichelis. The former Bayern Munich centre-back takes over after spells at River Plate, Monterrey and Mallorca.
Yan Diomande was sold to Real Madrid for 125m and with Christoph Baumgartner out for an extended period due to a hamstring injury, Demichelis will need to find other ways to produce goals.
Bayer Leverkusen - Searching for More Spanish Magic
- Manager: Carles Martínez
- Chairman of the Board: Fernando Carro
- Key Players: Edmond Tapsoba, Aleix García, Ibrahim Maza, Patrik Schick, Christian Kofane
- In: Facundo Medina (Marseille), Luca Erlein (Hoffenheim), Miguel Gutiérrez (Napoli), Kennet Eichhorn (Hertha Berlin), Kerim Alajbegovic (Salzburg), Afonso Moreira (Lyon), Ndjicoura Bomba (Bamako)
- Out: Matej Kovar (PSV Eindhoven), Alejandro Grimaldo (Atlético Madrid), Kerim Alajbegovic (Juventus)
Bayer Leverkusen have been slipping down the table since their improbable Bundesliga title in 2023-24. They finished second the following season but dropped to sixth in 2025-26.
It was a turbulent campaign with Erik ten Hag sacked in November and replaced by Kasper Hjulmand. Carles Martínez is the new manager after the Spaniard spent three seasons at Toulouse.
Losing Alejandro Grimaldo leaves a big hole in the squad but there are talented youngsters who could take big steps up. Kennet Eichhorn, Ibrahim Maza, Afonso Moreira and Christian Kofane are the primary candidates.
This is set to be a transition season for the Werkself who will also have a Europa League campaign to contend with.
Stuttgart - Stability Under Hoeness
- Manager: Sebastian Hoeness
- President: Dietmar Allgaier
- Key Players: Jeff Chabot, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Angelo Stiller, Bilal El Khannouss, Jamie Leweling, Ermedin Demirovic, Deniz Undav
- In: Grischa Prömel (Hoffenheim), Bilal El Khannouss (Leicester), Leo Sauer (Feyenoord), Dzenan Pejcinovic (Wolfsburg)
- Out: Jovan Milosevic (Braga)
Stuttgart had the second highest attack last season but leaking 49 goals resulted in a fourth placed finish.
They have kept their squad intact and have stability in manager Sebastian Hoeness who has been in charge since 2023.
Bilal El Khannouss was signed permanently and with Jamie Leweling and Deniz Undav in attack, goals should continue to flow freely.
Hoffenheim - Sinsheim Club Return to Europe
- Manager: Carles Martínez
- CEO: Daniel Förderer
- Key Players: Ozan Kabak, Vladimír Coufal, Wouter Burger, Fisnik Asllani, Andrej Kramaric
- In: Mats Rots (Twente), Cajetan Lenz (Bochum), Nathan De Cat (Anderlecht), Adam Daghim (Salzburg), Patrick Wimmer (Wolfsburg), Alessandro Vogt (St. Gallen)
- Out: Kevin Akpoguma (Frosinone), Stanley Nsoki (Union Berlin), Hennes Behrens (Augsburg), Luca Erlein (Bayer Leverkusen), Grischa Prömel (Stuttgart), Muhammed Damar (Wolfsburg), Bazoumana Touré (Newcastle), Haris Tabakovic (Salzburg), Gift Orban (Amed)
Hoffenheim enjoyed a resurgence last season, finishing fifth, their best campaign since 2017-18 under Julian Nagelsmann.
Christian Ilzer has been in charge since 2024 and will have to do without Bazoumana Touré who joined Newcastle for €50m. The club have reinvested in youngsters to improve the squad, led by 18-year-old Belgian midfielder Nathan De Cat.
With a return to Europe set to stretch their squad to the limit, it remains to be seen if the Sinsheim club can take the next step.
Eintracht Frankfurt - Hütter Returns
- Manager: Adi Hütter
- Sporting CEO: Markus Krösche
- Key Players: Robin Koch, Ritsu Doan, Can Uzun, Jonathan Burkardt
- In: Otávio (Estrela da Amadora), Noël Aséko (Bayern Munich), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge), Malik Pimpong (Midtjylland), Noel Futkeu (Greuther Fürth)
- Out: Hrvoje Smolcic (Corum), Aurèle Amenda (Coventry), Rasmus Nissen Kristensen (Midtjylland), Nathaniel Brown (Bayern Munich), Ellyes Skhiri (Köln), Mahmoud Dahoud (Released), Noel Futkeu (Elversberg), Elye Wahi (Nice), Michy Batshuayi (Abha)
Eintracht Frankfurt are trying to stabilise after finishing eighth last season, one win away from a spot in the Conference League play-offs.
Adi Hütter returns to the club after spells at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Monaco. He will have to rebuild a defence that is missing Aurèle Amenda, Rasmus Nissen Kristensen and Nathaniel Brown who were sold for a combined €74m.
Can Uzun is likely to be the primary playmaker with Jonathan Burkardt to lead the line after scoring 13 goals in just 1342 minutes last season.
If Hütter can sort out the defence and get the most out of Farès Chaibi, Uzun, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, Ansgar Knauff and Burkardt, expect to see the Eagles return to Europe.
Freiburg - Manzambi Departs
- Manager: Julian Schuster
- Sporting CEO: Jochen Saier
- Key Players: Matthias Ginter, Maximilian Eggestein, Vincenzo Grifo, Igor Matanovic
- In: Mio Backhaus (Werder Bremen), Rihito Yamamoto (Sint Truiden), Yannik Engelhardt (Como), Keisuke Goto (Anderlecht)
- Out: Robert Wagner (Dynamo Dresden), Johan Manzambi (Aston Villa), Merlin Röhl (Everton), Junior Adamu (Schalke)
Freiburg claimed seventh position last season and will compete in Europe for the fourth time in five years. They went on a deep run in the Conference League, reaching the final in May when they went down 3-0 to Aston Villa.
Julian Schuster stays in charge for a third successive campaign, his side weakened after Johan Manzambi was sold to Aston Villa for €60m.
The Black Forest club face a tough challenge to qualify for Europe again, especially if they go on another deep run in the Conference League.

Borussia Dortmund are sure to finish in the Top 4 but I am not so sure Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen deserve to be so short in this market.
Stuttgart's squad is not far away from those two clubs who have new managers in charge.
Sebastian Hoeness has been at the helm since March 2023, guided the club to second spot in 2023-24 and can get the Swabians into the top four once again.

Eintracht Frankfurt conceded 65 goals last season, just two teams conceding more. Bringing Adi Hütter back to the club is great news for the club who finished third two seasons ago.
I am expecting the Eagles to climb above Freiburg, Hoffenheim, finish in the top six and get back into European competitions.

Paderborn finished third in the 2 Bundesliga last season, beating Wolfsburg in a dramatic promotion playoff.
With Schalke surely set to stay in the top flight and Elversberg doing some promising work in the transfer market, I think Paderborn are most likely to go down.
The North Rhine-Westphalia club have been promoted to the Bundesliga flight just twice in their history, finishing last on both occasions.
