Torreense are flying high after beating Sporting CP in the Portuguese Cup final. Casa Pia didn’t impress in the first leg and despite returning to Rio Maior, I am backing another draw.

Casa Pia lead Torreense 12-9 alongside four draws.

Casa Pia on the Brink

Casa Pia went ten games without a win before an important 1-0 victory in Guimaraes. They had just 29% possession, Gaizka Larrazabal scoring in the 86th minute.

Larrazabal scored again on the final matchday as the Geese drew 1-1 against Rio Ave. They were far more effective with 20-6 shots and 2.44-0.75 xG, Casa Pia finishing in the relegation playoff position.

Alvaro Pacheco’s side drew 0-0 at Torreense in the first leg. It was a game containing few chances, Pedro Rosas sent off in the 76th minute.

Trophy for Torreense

Torreense have been outstanding this season, finishing third in Liga Portugal 2 and winning the Portuguese Cup.

The Torres Vedras club shocked Sporting CP in Jamor, Kevin Zohi scoring in the 4th minute before holding on to take it to extra time. Stopira converted a penalty to secure a 2-1 victory and a spot in the Europa League.

Luís Tralhão’s side have lost only one since March, that solidity was on show against Casa Pia in the playoffs last week. Torreense had 59% possession and 14-6 shots but were unable to find the net in a 0-0 draw.
