Brighton vs Bournemouth Preview

Brighton have won just once in their last four home games, while Bournemouth have drawn three of their last four matches on the road. I think this south coast derby can end all square with BTTS also backed.

Stats

  • Brighton are winless in 3 of their last 4 home matches
  • Brighton have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 matches
  • Bournemouth have drawn 5 of their last 9 matches
  • Bournemouth have drawn 3 of their last 4 away matches
  • Bournemouth have seen BTTS in their last 7 matches
  • Bournemouth have seen over 3.5 goals in their last 5 matches

HTH

Bournemouth have a 46-44 advantage against Brighton, alongside 29 draws.

Brighton Unbeaten In Four Games

Brighton have returned to form either side of the new year with two wins and two draws in the last four games for Fabian Hürzeler’s side.

The Seagulls ended 2025 with a 2-2 draw away to West Ham before starting 2026 in style with a 2-0 home victory over Burnley.

A deserved 1-1 draw away to Man City in the EPL, in which Karou Mitmoa levelled after the break, was followed by a 2-1 win over Man United in the FA Cup last weekend thanks to goals from Barjan Gruda and Danny Welbeck.

Bournemouth The Entertainers

Bournemouth have been one of the most entertaining teams of late, serving up 25 goals across their last five matches in all competitions.

The high-scoring games haven't translated into wins for the Cherries, however, with Andoni Iraola’s side winning just once in that period - a 3-2 win over Tottenham two weeks ago.

Last week, Bournemouth lost on penalties in the FA Cup after the most dramatic of draws with Newcastle. That game finished 2-2 in normal time and 3-3 after extra-time.

It is now just one win in the last 13 matches for the south coast side.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Igor, Estupinan; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck

Brighton could welcome back Carlos Baleba and Yankuba Minteh. Brajan Gruda and Yasin Ayari are pushing for starts after impressive FA Cup performance.

Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Cook; Jimenez, Kroupi, Tavernier; Evanilson

Enes Unal is sidelined by a groin injury and David Brooks misses out due to an ankle issue picked up in the FA Cup loss to Newcastle.
