G2 Esports vs Paper Rex Betting Predictions
G2 Esports and Paper Rex will face off on Tuesday, September 29, in the second round of Group C at VALORANT Champions 2026. It’ll mark the third meeting between the two teams, with both of the last two ending in Paper Rex’s favour.
Paper Rex have had G2 Esports’ number this season, and they will be expected to win again this week. This sounds fair, as Paper Rex have shown very high highs this season, while G2 Esports have been notoriously volatile and not too convincing in their more recent showings.
However, qualitatively, G2 Esports can match Paper Rex, who also haven’t been amazing throughout Stage 2. So while the favourite is clear, there is room for a close game to play out on Tuesday.
- Paper Rex have beaten G2 Esports twice this season
- Both teams have been a bit shaky in recent weeks
- A close game is likely

G2 Esports Are Looking Strong
G2 Esports kicked off the tournament with a very convincing 2-0 sweep of TYLOO. G2 won the match with 13-6 on Lotus and 13-3 on Sunset, giving the Chinese squad no chance of causing an upset.
While G2 winning that series isn’t too surprising, G2 Esports haven’t been all that great in the latter half of the season, so some concerns were there. And they remain, especially now that G2 Esports will face a much more formidable opponent in Paper Rex.
G2 Esports have faced Paper Rex twice before this season, and have yet to come close to winning the head-to-head. The big question is whether G2 Esports have learned enough to prepare something for their third clash with the VCT Pacific titans.

Paper Rex Have Yet to Disappoint
Paper Rex delivered in the first round of Group C and handled Team Liquid 2-1. It was not a perfect game from Paper Rex, but they showed up and won with 13-4 on Ascent, 7-13 on Haven, and 13-10 on Lotus.
Something was the start of the show on the day, posting the server’s highest 1.38 performance rating, well ahead of PR’s second-best player, d4v41, who posted 1.05.
Paper Rex showed some cracks in that game, but they had to play a fairly strong team, so they deserve some slack for not sweeping. It was also Paper Rex’s first game in nearly a month, so now that they’ve shaken off some of the rust, PR will be expected to live up to expectations and make it through the group stage.
