G2 Esports won VCT Americas Stage 1, and have since placed seventh-eighth in VALORANT Masters London and ninth-12th at the Esports World Cup. Not the best showing for G2’s standards, especially after their strong start to the season.
It is fair to feel worried about G2 Esports, who have not looked good in the current meta. Since Stage 1, they’ve looked progressively worse, and even after the Masters, London and EWC, they’ve yet to find any momentum.

100 Thieves Have Momentum On Thier Side
100 Thieves turned many heads with their title run at the Esports World Cup 2026, thus building on the success they accomplished in VCT Americas Stage 1, where 100T placed fourth.
While 100T’s run at the EWC - where they bested BBL Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, MIBR, Nongshim RedForce, and NRG - is impressive, it could also work against them. 100T played their last match of the EWC on July 12, meaning they’ve had less than a week to travel back home and prepare for VCT Americas Stage 2.
The packed schedule and long travel will introduce fatigue, as it has for all other teams who made a deep run in the EWC, and consequently likely a worse showing early into Stage 2.
