Kevin Doets has impressed on the Ally Pally stage and his run got even better on Monday when beating Nathan Aspinall in the third round.
However, his record against world number two Luke Humphries reads four matches played, four defeats. I'm backing Cool Hand Luke to book a spot in the quarter-finals.

Head to Head
Luke Humphries has won all four previous meetings including a 6-4 victory in the World Series Finals in September this year.
Luke Humphries Form
Luke Humphries' season includes titles in the Premier League Finals, Czech Darts Open and US Darts Masters
The former winner began his 2026 World Championship campaign with a professional 3-1 victory over Ted Evetts with a 98+ average and eight 180s.
His average was at a similar level in a one-sided second round against veteran Paul Lim. Humphries completed the job in straight sets to progress to the third round.
In the third round, Humphries average 100 and needed it too as he held off an impressive Gabriel Clemens 4-2.
Kevin Doets Form
Kevin Doets is at home on the Ally Pally stage, pushing defending champion Michael Smith to the brink on World Championships debut in 2024 and reaching Round 3 last year before losing a final set decider to Chris Dobey.
After a relatively successful 2025 season in which Hawkeye reached seven quarter-finals and a semi-final, he has gone further than ever before in the World Championship.
Doets started with comfortable wins over Matthew Dennet 3-1 in Round 1 and David Munyua 3-0 in the second round.
The Dutchman dumped out world number 15 Nathan Aspinall in the fourth round on Monday thanks to a stunning comeback from 3-2 down to win 4-3.
Verdict
Doets have been one of the stars of this year's World Championship, but he has never beaten Humphries in four attempts. I think the Dutchman's run ends here but he is backed with handicap starts.
