Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) returns to the boxing ring on Saturday, July 25 when he takes on Kristian Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs) at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The fight can be exclusively seen globally in over 200 countries on DAZN.
Joshua is fighting for the first time since last December – when he beat social media star turned boxer Jake Paul in a dismal fight, knocking out his opponent in the sixth round of the bout.
That was his first outing in over a year, with his most recent fight prior to that being the fifth round knockout loss to IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in September of 2024.
Of course, this fight is a warm-up for the long-awaited showdown with domestic rival Tyson Fury later this year, but for that to happen ‘AJ’ desperately needs to avoid an upset defeat in Jeddah.
Standing opposite him is unheralded Albanian heavyweight Prenga, who has seen every single one of his 20 career wins come via knockout.
He is yet to face anyone of Joshua’s calibre though, and he does have one defeat already on his record, so can Prenga wreck plans for Joshua-Fury with a huge upset win here, or will the former heavyweight champion send him packing and set his sights on the ‘Gypsy King’?
