One football fan is celebrating after landing a remarkable five-match Correct Score accumulator that turned a £5 bet into almost £100,000.
The unnamed Coral customer, who is based in South-East London, selected five games from across the continent that were taking place over the course of Monday and Tuesday night.
They then waited patiently, and nervously, over a 24-hour period as result after result came in, with a couple of games needing last-gasp goals to make them a winning selection.
Juventus’ 2-1 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven secured the winning bet on Tuesday night, landing this football punter a £96,687.50 windfall.
“This customer fully deserves his bumper payout, having picked five correct scores,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“With goals in the 94th and 96th minutes in a couple of the games, he must have been sweating on more than one occasion.”
