Cricket is a popular sport that played in many countries around the world including India, England, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies. Betting on cricket has never been so popular.

There are a wide range of betting markets that cater to various preferences and strategies. These markets allow bettors to wager on different aspects of a cricket match which makes the sport more engaging.

Here are some of the most common cricket betting markets:

Match Winner (Moneyline)

This is a straightforward bet on which team will win the match. You place your bet on either Team A or Team B, including the possibility of a tie in Test matches.

Series Winner

In multi-game series, you can bet on which team will win the series. This is common in Test series or limited-overs series like ODIs or T20s.

Top Batsman

You can bet on which batsman from a particular team will score the most runs in a match or series. This can be categorised by innings or overall in a series.

Top Bowler

Similar to top batsman, you can wager on which bowler from a team will take the most wickets in a match or series.

Total Runs (Over/Under)

This involves betting on whether the total runs scored in a match or by a specific team will be over or under a predetermined number set by the sportsbook.

Total Wickets (Over/Under)

Similar to total runs, you can bet on whether the total number of wickets that fall in a match will be over or under a specified number.

Player Performance

You can bet on individual player performances, such as a specific batsman's runs or a bowler's wickets. These bets may have an over/under format.

Method of Dismissal

You can predict how a batsman will get out, whether it's by being bowled, caught, stumped, run-out, or other methods. This market can be player-specific or for all wickets in a match.

Batsman Match Performance

This involves betting on how a specific batsman will perform in a given match, including the number of runs they'll score and whether they'll hit a century or half-century.

Man of the Match

You can wager on which player will be named the "Man of the Match" based on their overall performance, including batting, bowling, and fielding contributions.

Boundary Markets

These bets revolve around the number of boundaries (fours and sixes) that will be hit in a match, team-specific, or by a particular batsman.

Dismissal Timing

You can predict when a particular batsman will be dismissed during their innings (e.g., before reaching 10 runs, between 10-20 runs, etc.).

Toss Winner

Bet on which team will win the coin toss at the beginning of the match.

Highest Opening Partnership

Predict which team's opening pair will score the most runs collectively without losing a wicket.

Match Handicap

Similar to Asian Handicap in other sports, this market gives a virtual advantage or disadvantage to a team, making the betting more competitive.

Live Betting (In-Play)

In-play betting allows you to place bets while the match is in progress, taking advantage of changing circumstances and odds.

Super Over Betting

In T20 matches, you can bet on the outcome of the Super Over, which is a tiebreaker used to determine the winner in case of a tie.

Player Specials

Special bets can be offered for specific players, such as whether a particular bowler will take a hat-trick or a batsman will hit a certain number of sixes.

Team to Score Most Sixes

Bet on which team will hit the most sixes in a match.

Highest Individual Score

Predict which player will score the most runs in a single innings of a match.

Conclusion

These are some of the main cricket betting markets available with many more exotic markets offered by bookmakers.

It's important to research, analyse team and player statistics, stay updated on team news and conditions, and understand the rules of each market before placing your bets.

Always gamble responsibly, within your means, and choose a reputable bookmaker with time out options.
