Sydney Kings vs Adelaide 36ers Game 3 Preview
Bryce Cotton led the Adelaide 36ers to victory in Game 2 of the Championship Finals and they can follow that up by taking a 2-1 series lead.
If the 36ers unsettle Kendrick Davis early, Adelaide can pinch this one and give themselves a shot at winning it all on their home court in Game 4.
- Adelaide are 11-5 on the road this season.
- 4 of the 6 games between Adelaide and Sydney have gone under the game total.
- Flynn Cameron has scored 14 points or more in 5 of 6 matches against Sydney this season.
- Bryce Cotton has averaged 8.2 assists in his last 5 against Sydney.
Sydney Kings Let Lead Slip
Sydney had Game Two in their grasp and let it slip being outscored 23-12 in the final quarter to lose by 2 points at the buzzer.
There i concern for Brian Goorjian after the loss with the key piece in Kendric Davis showing his frustration at the end of the match after shooting at just 24 FG% for the night, going 6-25 but still scoring 20 points.
Secondary scoring was really what kept the Kings in control of the see-sawing match with Xaviers Cooks registering a double-double with 18pts + 10rebs and 2 blocks while Torrey Craig did the same with 17 points and 10 rebounds, going 5 of 6 from three.
Craig scored all of his points in the first half though, which was a similar performance to Game 1. Goorjian needs to find a way to unlock his import in the second half.
Adelaide 36ers Level Things Up
Bryce Cotton took over in the fourth quarter of Game 2 and made the fast-break to score the game-winning lay-up with literally no time left on the clock.
Cotton scored 15 of his 28 points in the final quarter to lead Adelaide to victory on their home court at the Entertainment Centre tying the Championship Series at 1-1 after being down by 9 points heading into the fourth. Some say you couldn’t script it, but Cotton is proving to be the greatest.
There was a clear contrast in shooting for Adelaide in Game 2 to Game 1 dropping 36.8% from three compared to just 24.3% in the series opener.
The biggest factor was Cotton got help with Flynn Cameron going 4-7 from the perimeter and 17 points (2 points in Game 1) and John Jenkins also made it rain from outside scoring 14 points with 4 threes.
