Slovenia Chasing Glory on Home Court
Slovenia U20 have made the most of home-court advantage throughout the EuroBasket U20 2026, cruising through the group stage with convincing victories over the Czech Republic (77-54), Israel (90-77) and Romania (95-51).
The hosts carried that momentum into the knockout rounds, opening up a 21-point halftime lead against Belgium before easing to an 88-61 victory in the Round of 16. Another dominant display followed in the quarter-finals, where they comfortably defeated Turkey 90-72.
The Slovenians were considered underdogs in the semi-finals against France but held their nerve in a tightly contested battle. After entering the fourth quarter level, they edged out a dramatic 91-89 victory to book their place in the final.
Serbia Eyeing a Perfect Tournament
Serbia U20 have also enjoyed a flawless EuroBasket U20 campaign, winning all three group-stage matches against Poland (84-67), Lithuania (79-57) and Latvia (89-66).
The Eagles were outstanding defensively in the knockout phase, brushing aside Italy 86-63 before producing another commanding performance to defeat Greece 92-66 in the quarter-finals.
Spain came closest to ending Serbia's unbeaten run in the semi-finals, reducing the deficit after halftime, but the Eagles stayed in control to secure a 72-65 victory and another shot at European gold.
