Match Preview
The visitors are going through a difficult spell after suffering four consecutive defeats. Dallas Wings, meanwhile, have been one of the hottest teams in the WNBA this month, making it surprising to see them enter this matchup as underdogs.
New York Searching for a Response
New York Liberty have hit a rough patch and slipped to third place in the Eastern Conference with a 13-12 record.
The Liberty opened July with an impressive 99-86 victory over title contenders Minnesota Lynx before their form took a sharp downturn. They followed that success with consecutive defeats to Dallas Wings (88-77), Minnesota Lynx (90-85) and Toronto Tempo (93-91).
Their losing streak stretched to four games in the most recent outing, where New York were comfortably beaten 108-88 by Indiana Fever. A disastrous third quarter, which they lost 30-12, proved decisive, while Breanna Stewart finished with 26 points and eight rebounds.
Dallas Looking to Extend Their Winning Run
Dallas Wings have emerged as one of the strongest playoff contenders in the 2026 WNBA season, currently sitting fourth in the overall standings with a 17-8 record.
After ending June with back-to-back losses to Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx, the Wings have responded in outstanding fashion. They have reeled off victories over Connecticut Sun (86-83), Toronto Tempo (89-76 and 108-95), New York Liberty (88-77) and Chicago Sky (96-91).
Dallas made it six straight wins last weekend by defeating Los Angeles Sparks 90-82 at home. Paige Bueckers led the way with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, while Jessica Shepard recorded a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
