Match Preview
This match carries huge importance for both sides, who have made poor starts to the new EuroLeague season. Milano celebrated an 89-82 victory over Real Madrid the last time they met in Italy, back in December 2025.
Milano Struggling in the Elite Division
Milano's results and performances have been poor so far in the new EuroLeague campaign, making them one of the lowest-ranked teams with just one victory and three defeats.
Their only win came in late September in the second round, when they edged out fellow Italian rivals Virtus Bologna 87-85 at home, with veteran Marko Guduric leading the scoring with 14 points. However, their first game in October was disappointing, as they lost 86-76 to Baskonia in Spain.
Last week, Milano faced Maccabi Tel Aviv, who were winless at the time, on neutral ground in Belgrade and suffered a heavy 97-79 defeat. Poor defense and 15 turnovers were the main reasons behind this loss.
Real Madrid Regaining Momentum
Real Madrid's start to the new EuroLeague regular season has been disastrous, with three consecutive road defeats against Dubai 78-77, Anadolu Efes 94-84 and Hapoel Tel Aviv 102-98.
Their losing run finally ended last week in their home opener, as they outplayed Partizan Belgrade 86-76, establishing an early lead and never letting it slip. Theo Maledon was the top scorer with 13 points, although his shooting percentages were far from ideal (3/10 FG). Facundo Campazzo added 12 points.
Los Blancos extended their winning streak last weekend by crushing Manresa 120-83 in the Spanish ACB Liga. They dominated the glass with a 49-28 rebounding advantage and shot 71% on two-point attempts. Olivier Sarr was named man of the match with 16 points.
