Match Preview
Fenerbahce defeated Korfez by a 14-point margin in last year's head-to-head encounter in Istanbul. Sarunas Jasikevicius' side are once again tagged as massive favorites to earn another convincing victory.
Fenerbahce Showing Strong Form at Home
After starting the new season by finishing 3rd in the EuroLeague SuperCup (lost to Olympiakos 92-90 in the semifinals, then beat Dubai 85-77 in the 3rd-place decider), Fenerbahce also lifted the Turkish Super Cup trophy by defeating Besiktas 72-59.
Their start to the new EuroLeague campaign has also been very strong, claiming three consecutive victories in front of the home crowd against Virtus Bologna 78-68, Bayern Munich 100-76 and Dubai 76-66.
The only slip-up so far for the Yellow Canaries came in the Super Lig first round, losing to Bahcesehir Koleji 98-83 last weekend.
Korfez Make a Winning Super Lig Debut
Unlike Fenerbahce, Korfez were successful in their Super Lig premiere last weekend, outplaying Esenler Erokspor 88-79 in front of the home crowd. Jonathan Davis delivered an outstanding performance with 31 points and 12 rebounds.
They were close to earning a spot in the FIBA Champions League, beating Kolossos Rhodes 91-79 in the qualifying semifinals, but then lost the deciding clash to Promitheas 94-93.
That victory against Kolossos Rhodes will be enough to secure their participation in the FIBA Europe Cup though.
