Match Preview
Baskonia had a major roster overhaul this summer, so the new acquisitions will need some time to build chemistry. Milano also lost a couple of big players like Shields and Nebo, so tonight's clash might see some new stars emerge.
Baskonia Searching for Their First EuroLeague Win
Baskonia stood no chance in the EuroLeague opening round last week at home, getting outgunned by Olympiakos 106-89. Shooting was a big problem for the Basque side here, landing just 30 out of 80 field-goal attempts.
A very similar scenario was witnessed in the second round earlier this week, losing the mini Spanish derby to Valencia 111-86. Tadas Sedekerskis had a great performance here, shooting 8 out of 8 on two-pointers and ending the match as the top scorer with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Speaking of their domestic affairs, Baskonia were beaten in the Spanish Super Cup semifinals by Joventut 96-84 in mid-September, while defeating San Pablo Burgos 98-97 as visitors in the ACB Liga opener last weekend.
Milano Recovering After Partizan Defeat
Milano started the new season in good fashion, claiming four victories in their five appearances across competitions.
The EuroLeague campaign started with a 92-76 defeat to Partizan in Belgrade last week, but they managed to bounce back and edge Virtus Bologna 87-85 at home earlier this week. Veteran Marko Guduric was the top scorer with 14 points, landing some clutch shots.
Milano earned back-to-back victories against Virtus Bologna 80-71 and Venezia 94-87 to lift the Italian Super Cup two weeks ago, while also opening the new Lega A season with an 83-79 home win over Trieste last weekend.
